“This Training was useful for me to advocate and promote human rights and also we gained skills in reporting human right violations” Participant

During August and September 2023, we spearheaded a successful capacity-building initiative focused on human rights advocacy and reporting, generously supported by the UN in Somalia. The primary goal was to empower young social workers with the tools and knowledge necessary to become effective champions of human rights within their communities.

Through a series of interactive workshops and practical exercises, participants delved into key principles of human rights, international standards, and strategies for effective advocacy and reporting. The training sessions also fostered a collaborative environment for sharing experiences and developing innovative approaches to address human rights challenges specific to Somalia.

By equipping youth with a deep understanding of human rights frameworks and practical skills in advocacy and reporting, we strive to catalyze positive change and promote a culture of respect for human dignity and equality. Empowered youth catalyze sustainable development and social justice in their communities.
