  • Building the capacity of young social workers to strengthen and enhance protection practices in Somalia

We conducted a targeted capacity-building session in Somalia, delivering comprehensive training sessions on social workers’ ethics, principles, and best practices. This program was strategically designed to empower social workers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively apply ethical standards in their work within child protection, gender-based violence (GBV), and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) settings.

By equipping social workers with enhanced capacities, we aim to bolster their contributions to safeguarding vulnerable populations, particularly youth, and promoting holistic well-being. Strengthening ethical frameworks within these critical sectors improves service delivery and upholds human rights and dignity.

Our capacity-building efforts align with broader goals of promoting protection mechanisms and ensuring quality interventions in diverse community contexts. Through continuous learning and skill development, social workers become pivotal agents of positive change, fostering resilient and empowered communities.
